We also collect information generated through your use of the Platform, such as the jobs you view or save, the applications you submit, messages you send to other users, and basic technical data like your IP address, browser type, and device information, which is collected automatically for security and analytics purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate the Platform and provide our core service of connecting job seekers with employers, including: creating and displaying your public profile, matching and recommending relevant job or internship listings, allowing employers to review your application and contact you, sending you account-related notifications (such as application updates, interview invitations, and OTP verification codes), responding to your support requests, and improving and securing the Platform. We do not use your data to make automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
3. How We Share Your Information
Your public profile and application materials are shared with employers when you apply for one of their listings, or when your profile is discoverable through our talent search (if you have made your profile public). We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share limited information with service providers who help us operate the Platform (such as hosting and email delivery providers) under confidentiality obligations, or when required to do so by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users, or to investigate fraud or a breach of these Terms.
4. Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies (such as your browser's local storage) to keep you signed in, remember your language and theme preferences, and understand how the Platform is used so that we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features of the Platform, such as staying logged in.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including hashed passwords, encrypted connections (HTTPS), parameterised database queries to prevent SQL injection, CSRF protection on forms, and role-based access controls that limit which staff can view sensitive information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to continually review and improve our safeguards.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you wish to reactivate it or as required to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you permanently delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.

You can access, review, and update most of your profile information at any time from your account dashboard. You may also request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request that we delete your account and associated data, by contacting us at the email address below. We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable timeframe.
8. Children's Privacy
Somali Fix Jobs is intended for users who are at least 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under this age. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy & Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date above whenever we make changes, and, where the changes are significant, we will provide additional notice.
